A Leap of Faith

A Leap of Faith is a documentary about the struggle to maintain religious freedoms in Syria. We already have the footage, and are now looking for experienced editors to complete our project.

Stranglehold

Stranglehold is a short film about a husband and wife, both dealing with extreme anxiety. We are looking for an actor and actress, as well as gaffers and grips, no experience needed.

Knowing the Subway

Subway is a documentary about a man who has been taking the same subway ride every day for the last 67 years. We are looking to build a Grip and Electric team for the project.

Beach Life

Beach Life is a documentary about the culture of surfing, and the dedication to a truly unique way of life. We are looking for a cameraman with a camera that shoots in 4k.

Keys

Keys is a short film about a pianist’s struggle to cope with the loss of his dog. We are looking for an experienced piano player who will act in the lead role of the film.

Successful

Successful follows the story of two broke friends trying to fulfill their American Dream. We are looking for three gaffers and a sound recordist that can work for long hours.

About OpenCalls

Connecting Students to Projects

OpenCalls is designed by Emerson students, for Emerson students. You can login using your Emerson login information, and build your own profile to convey the work you have done. With this profile, you can sign up for casting and crew calls by clicking the Find a Project button at the top of the page, and show producers why they should select you to work on their projects. 

Connecting Projects to Students

If you need a cast or crew for your project, you can create a project on OpenCalls using the Create a Project button at the top of the page. You can start by filling out a short form, which will give potential cast and crew members the basic information they need to know about your project. Once your project is live, Emerson students can sign up for the available positions. 

Finding Projects

Projects that have open positions will appear on  the Projects page. Completed Projects can be found on the Showcase page. Separation of incomplete and completed projects will make it easier for you to navigate through OpenCalls and find what you need. The New Projects section on the Home page displays the four most recently created projects from the Projects tab.
